About Us

“In July 2010, my son Anthony Hensley (we called him “Boo”) tragically took his own life. Over the following years, I struggled in silence, feeling ashamed and hesitant to share his story with others. However, in 2023, I was unexpectedly prompted to speak about his passing, which led me to realize the importance of breaking the silence around suicide and mental health. This experience inspired me to create an event in honor of Anthony during Suicide Awareness Month in September, where I conceived a safe space for survivors to celebrate the lives and legacies of their lost loved ones.

Motivated by the desire to prevent other parents from experiencing the pain of losing a child to suicide, I founded Bike 4 Life. This initiative aims to empower adolescents aged 13 to 18 by providing them with holistic coping skills through nutrition and exercise. Bike 4 Life serves as a mentorship program, offering a supportive environment where young individuals can express themselves without fear of judgment. Through this program, we strive to give a voice to those who may feel unheard, while equipping them with valuable tools for managing their emotions through fitness and healthy living practices.”
